Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa w Nowym Sączu (PWSZ) is a state (public) university established by Polish Government Order on June 16, 1998 as one of the first schools of this type in Poland. It is located in the charming town Nowy Sacz, in the beautiful and mountainous area of South Poland.

The PWSZ students can find their specialization among the subjects offered by the six PWSZ Institutes (faculties).

· Institute of Pedagogy (Chruślicka Str. 6)

· Institute of Engineering (Zamenhofa Str. 1A)

· Institute of Physical Education (Kościuszki Str. 2)

· Institute of Nursing (Kościuszki Str. 2G)

Full-time studies at State Higher Vocational School in Nowy Sacz are free. PWSZ also offers weekend study programs, as well as postgraduate studies. After 3 years the graduates are awarded either a licentiate diploma (Bachelor of Arts degree) or after 3,5 years - an engineering diploma (Bachelor of Science degree). Graduates may then work in their chosen profession as well as pursue master degree studies and post-graduate studies.

University offers also studies on the 2^nd level (Master degree) in field of Management and production engineering, Nursing, Pedagogy.

General admission requirements

Generally students applying to PWSZ must present register in the system for prospective students and then provide the required documents:

- application form (printed after the electronic registration on the website of the University: www.pwsz-ns.edu.pl, tab: the candidate / E-recruitment);
- the original or a copy of high school diploma;
- the original or a copy of the diploma of the first degree (candidates for postgraduate courses);
- a statement of the average grades achieved during the first degree issued by an institution that has given job title (candidates for postgraduate courses);
- a photocopy of the identity card;
- documents certifying that the candidate is a winner or finalist in Olympic central,
- a medical certificate of fitness for occupation issued by the occupational doctor (for directions: for nursing and medical rescue, physical education and teaching specialties);
- 4 photographs measuring 35 mm x 45 mm, without a hat, against a bright background;
- proof of payment of application fee;
- declaration of specialty choice.
